About
Built by an owner who has been there
Kat ADA exists because its founder got the demand letters herself. Twice.
The short version
Kat runs restaurants in Southern California, and before Kat ADA she built a SaaS product for restaurants, so she has lived both sides of small-business software. Like thousands of small business owners in California, she was hit with an ADA website lawsuit. She settled, paid, fixed everything on the list, and kept improving the site, logging every change with dates. Then the second lawsuit arrived, same playbook, different plaintiff.
That dated log of real fixes changed what happened next, and it changed what she did with her time: together with her technical co-founder, she built the tool she wished she had from the start. Kat ADA is a done for you Squarespace accessibility service: a specialist makes real source fixes inside your site, documents the work per WCAG 2.1 AA, and sends a monthly report. Not an overlay.
What we believe
We believe in an open, accessible web. We do not believe in extortion. Accessibility is real: actual customers use screen readers, keyboards, and high-contrast settings, and they deserve sites that work. What we refuse to do is sell fear, promise magic, or pretend a script in the corner is the same thing as doing the work.
- Real fixes, in your real site. We edit your actual Squarespace content. Nothing we do disappears when a script is removed. Here is how that differs from an overlay.
- Honesty about limits. We say what we fix and what we can only flag, and we will plainly tell you that no tool or report can guarantee accessibility outcomes or prevent a lawsuit. Nothing we publish is legal advice.
- Documentation as a habit. Every fix is logged with a date, and you get the record monthly. Ask any owner who has faced a second demand letter why that matters.
- Walk the talk. Our own site follows the same WCAG 2.1 AA standard we hold yours to, with real alt text, readable contrast, skip links, and keyboard support.
What Kat ADA does
You run a free scan, no credit card, and see your site’s real issues. If you want them fixed, you invite our team to your Squarespace site once, a specialist makes the fixes inside your own editor, and we re-check every page monthly. Plans start at $25 a month billed annually; the details are on the pricing page, and the full how-to lives in our Squarespace accessibility guide.
